FABRIC CONSUMPTION CALCULATION FORMULA FOR KNITTED  T-SHIRT::

To Calculate Fabric Consumption for the Tee shirt first, we need to review the garment measurement (also add sewing allowance on it) & fabric GSM for the Tee shirt from the Technical sheet of the garment to calculate the basic tee shirt Fabric Consumption.

Let's consider the fabric specifications as given below:

1.100% cotton Single jersey fabric for the body parts (Body + Sleeve), GSM 160

2. 95% cotton 5% Lycra 1 × 1 Rib fabric for the collar, GSM 250 

Also, Tee Shirt Measurements are given below which given by the buyer;

Now, let’s calculate total fabric consumption by the Formula of Tee shirt for Basic Size L:

1. Body Fabric Consumption for Body & Sleeve:

= (Body Length+Sleeve length+Allowance)X(1/2 Chest+Allowance) X2 X GSM X12  KGS/Dozen

Let’s add total consumption for Tee shorts (Body+ Sleeve +Collar)

= 3.02KG+0.14KG

=3.16 KGS/Dozen

So, the Total fabric Consumption for this tee shirt is 3.63 KGS/Dozen Garments.
